What is autoninja?
Each year, around 30,000 people are killed or receive life-changing injuries on our roads. Almost all of these collisions are completely avoidable.
Apart from the inconvenience and cost of breaking down, there is also an inherent danger in being stranded on the roadside.
People make mistakes, and it’s impossible to prevent collisions entirely, but five key things need to happen if we’re to avoid death and serious injury resulting from them:
Safe speeds
Safe road use (i.e. not texting and driving/walking)
Good emergency response
Safe roads (i.e. signage, barriers, lighting)
Safe vehicles << this is our bit!
When all these layers of protection work together, the chances of a life-changing collision are significantly reduced. AutoNinja is a resource to help owners choose and maintain safer vehicles - things like safety tech, car checks and basic maintenance tasks.
Who are autoninja?
AutoNinja is a resource owned and operated by Co-Pilot, working with organisations that want to see fewer collisions on our roads. Our partners include local authorities, emergency services, charities, insurers, driver trainers and employers.
Co-Pilot brings together road safety experts, behavioural scientists, creative talents and stakeholders to produce content designed to help road users make better choices - not just drivers but pedestrians, passengers, cyclists, horse riders and motorcyclists too. We all have our part to play in reducing the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads.
And we don’t need to curb freedoms or travel everywhere at 10mph to achieve it! Small changes save lives, and that’s all it takes.
